I provide individual, couples, and group therapies.
I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, meaning that I combine different theories together to best suit your individual needs (including client-centered, narrative, DBT, CBT, psychodynamic, and solution-focused). I strongly believe in acceptance as an important component of change and will actively use techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my work. An interpersonal process approach connects these different theories. I believe that if we can bring the problem into the room and experience it between us, we will have the best chance of working through it successfully. This does not apply to all problems, but our relationship will continue to be exceptionally important. Research has shown overwhelmingly that the biggest predictor of therapeutic success is the relationship between client and therapist. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process in which we will work together to determine your goals and the best way to go about accomplishing them. Specifically, we will explore the barriers to changing your behavior, the function your current patterns of thinking/behavior serve, and ways to go about changing these patterns.
